This year in American Heritage Girls, we are learning about the traits that every girl should strive for in order to make a difference for God, for her country, for her family and for her community. The AHG Creed is as follows:

As an American Heritage Girl, I promise to be:
Compassionate, Helpful, Honest, Loyal, Perseverant, Pure, Resourceful, Respectful, Responsible, and Reverent

As we learn more about what each of these qualities means, it is important to know that we cannot truly be any of these without the power of God in our lives.  Everything we do should point to God!  There are a lot of “nice” people in this world who can be the things we recite in our creed.  However, as Christians, we are to be different than the rest of the world.  When we are compassionate, helpful, honest, loyal, perseverant, pure, resourceful, respectful, responsible, and reverent, people should know that we are not doing these things to point to how good we are, but to point to how good God is!  This is something to remember when you are living your life for The God who gave up everything for you, even to the point of death on a cross!
